Fabric appearance simulation is of great significance to the design and production of fabrics, and has become a research hotspot in the field of computer graphics in recent years. Tufted carpets can be used for hanging, cushioning or floor coverings and other living decoration products in daily life. They are widely used and occupy the main market share of the carpet industry [1]. However, the loop space structure of multi-loop high-tufted carpets is complex and varies in height. In addition, considering the aesthetic requirements of the carpet, its pattern combination is changeable, which greatly increases the difficulty of simulation of the appearance of multi-loop high-tufted carpets. Domestic research on carpet appearance simulation mainly focuses on the development of carpet auxiliary design tools, such as Zhejiang University Jingwei CAD, Lanyi Carpet Group's carpet CAD, China Dream, etc. [2]. The above-mentioned tools can only simulate the pattern design of carpets on a plane surface, and do not have the function of simulating the appearance and structure of tufted carpets. In addition, a series of studies on the appearance simulation of tufted carpets have been carried out in China, but to a certain extent, the details of the spatial structure of tufted carpets have been ignored, and the simulation effect is poor; foreign scholars' research on fabric simulation mainly focuses on multi-strand Twisted yarn model construction and realistic simulation of clothing fabrics. For example, Zhao et al. provide a method for adaptively constructing multi-fiber twisted and hairy yarn models; Cirio et al. are establishing a three-dimensional model of knitted fabrics. At the time, the warp and weft yarns were abstracted as elastic rod models to deal with the contact friction, but due to the difference in the structure of woven fabrics and tufted fabrics, this method is not suitable for the simulation of tufted fabrics [3-4]. Research on the overall 3D simulation of tufted carpet appearance is rarely published in foreign countries. Based on the above problems, in view of the irregular distribution of the loops of the tufted carpet and the complex structure, this paper basically realizes the appearance simulation of the tufted carpet through the design algorithm. Among them, the geometric model of pile loops is established using the principle of B-spline curve fitting, and the deflection and deformation of the space position of the pile loops are truly simulated, which enhances the real sense of the appearance simulation of the tufted carpet.
